March & April 2012 Movies Archive: Wrath of the Titans | Titanic 3D | Street Dance 2 | The Hunger Games | Battleship | Dark Flight | Marvel’s The Avengers | Lockout

Finally, I update my blog! :P This is the longest time I have abandoned my blog (until I had forgotten the login password >.<) I guess my laziness can’t be cure and my passion for blogging is getting gone :(  I hope I still can keep my blog alive~

Okay, time to purge all the draft posts! During March and April 2012, I had watched lot of movies. The draft posts was being kept for quite a long time and some posts was really outdated :(  So, I will just do a quick summary of the movies that I had watched in March and April 2012 :P

1. Wrath of the Titans

I like Greek mythology. So, Wrath of the Titans is in my must-watch movie list :) On 29 March 2012, I went to GSC@Mid Valley with my friends to watch this tempting movie. As expected, I am enjoyed the movie :) By comparing to the prequel, Wrath of the Titans have better effects and actions (although the final boss is still lame as the final boss in the prequel “Kraken“, show up a while then defeated) Despite that, Wrath of the Titans is a watchable movie :)

2. Titanic 3D

The most romantic movie is once again show in the big screen with 3D. Thanks to Magnum4D, on 30 March 2012, I was invited to watch Titanic 3D at GSC@Subang Parade. 10 years plus ago, I was a kid and didn’t get the feeling from this movie. Till now I watched again, I still didn’t cry at the ending :P (thanks to the one who sat behind me who had transformed my seat to “massage chair” by keep kicking my seat!) I think there is no need to review again on this outstanding movie, everyone know Titanic is the best movie ever. However, if talking about its 3D effects, there is nothing special and it is quite tired by wearing the 3D glasses for 3hours+ If you are Titanic fans, or perhaps a couple, Titanic 3D is recommend for you to watch again in the big screen :)

3. Street Dance 2

Thanks to my sweet colleague Jenifer for gave me a pair of tickets to attend the screening of Street Dance 2 on 3 Apr 2012 at GSC@One Utama :) I didn’t watch StreetDance (2010). Lucky Street Dance 2 has no relation with its predecessor, so I didn’t get blur in the cinema :P  I am very impressed by the performers. Their dances are great and some moves are really breathtaking. Although the story is not really that interesting, but if you like dance movies, Street Dance 2 is suit for you :)

4. The Hunger Games

Heard that The Hunger Games received generally positive reviews. So on 6 Apr 2012, I went to GSC@Pavilion with my friends to watch this movie :) I am not a fan of the “The Hunger Games” book series, so I didn’t know how well is the adaptation. But from a movie perspective, I like and enjoy the movie. The Hunger Games is like English version of the Japanese movie Battle Royale. The story is interesting and extraordinary. I highly recommend this movie and I can’t wait for its sequels! :)

5. Battleship

A big thanks to ChurpChurp and Nuffnang for invited me to the screening of Battleship on 10 April 2012 at GSC@Mid Valley. I have been waiting this movie for so long! As expected, this movie is awesome! I loves movies with awesome CGI effects and decent actions. This movie has one of the best CGI effects that I have seen so far and the actions are stunning :) (but Transformers is still the best!) For those who love Transformers movies, you will gonna love Battleship too! :D Highly recommended movie in 2012!

6. Dark Flight

Thanks to Ken for introduced me the trailer of Dark Flight. The trailer freaked me out and I thought the movie should be watchable. So on 15 April 2012, I went to GSC@Mid Valley with my BFF to watch this freaky movie. However, the movie wasn’t that nice. The story is nothing special. Those make-up and special effects are so fake. The movie is more like a comedy to me rather than a scary movie :\ I think the most scariest Thai movie that I have watched so far is Shutter. Not recommend to watch Dark Flight in cinema :(

7. Marvel’s The Avengers

Marvel’s The Avengers!!! Finally the movie is now show in cinema! I have been waiting this movie for so so so long! :D I went crazy when I watched the trailers :P (Probably I have watched the trailers for hundred times :P ) After backed from my Bali trip, the next day I rushed to TGV@1Shamelin for this movie…haha. I watched 3D version. I went into cinema with high expectations, and the movie didn’t disappoint me! The only word that I can think of to describe this movie is fantastic. The movie is vastly entertaining and the action scenes are amazing and satisfying. I loves all the characters especially The Hulk, he is kinda cute. Too bad Spiderman is not assemble :( I hope there are sequels for this! Marvel’s The Avengers is definitely a must-watch movie and I am gonna watch for second time soon ;)

8. Lockout

On 30 April 2012, I went to GSC@Mid Valley with my colleagues for this movie. I never watch its trailer and never read about its synopsis. So, I went into cinema without having any idea about this movie. After finished the movie, I can say Lockout is a fun movie, with actions and interesting outer space setting (but some parts the CGI effects are quite fake and look like cartoon) Not recommend to watch Lockout in cinema.

[大追捕] Nightfall (2012)

First of all, special thanks to Nuffnang for invited me to the Nuffnang Special Screening of Nightfall (大追捕) at GSC@Tropicana City Mall on last Wednesday night :)

Trailer:

Synopsis:

When a Hong Kong celebrity is found brutally murdered, his body floating in the middle of the ocean, hardheaded detective Lam is called in to take charge of the investigation. As Lam zeroes in on a killer from the past, the murder appears to be a straightforward case of revenge. But the more that Lam pursues his suspect, the deeper he falls into a web of lies. To find the truth, Lam must dig into a 20 year-old case for answers, the one link tying the suspect to the celebrity. But in doing so, Lam will uncover a dark secret so shocking; it will turn the investigation upside down. Who is the victim and who is the killer? Just as Lam believes he has everything figured out, he will discover that there’s a fine line between love and hate.

To be frank, I’m not that into Hong Kong films, but Nightfall got my attention. This is all because of Nick Cheung. I like his acts and heard that in this movie, he workout so hard and got himself six packs! WeeWit~~ :P  Overall the movie is nice, and the story is unexpected and heartwarming. There is a scene also make my tears drop out (no spoiler here, so go figure out yourself~) I would recommend Nightfall for those who like Nick Cheung and for those who are looking for something like psychic thriller.
